Take Ballet to the Streets!

Brooklyn Ballet is launching our 20th anniversary with free workshops and performances for the community.

Join us for Take Ballet to the Streets at Albee Square June 11-12, 2022 with free sample dance classes for all ages and levels, and performances by both Brooklyn Ballet professional company and youth ensemble.

SATURDAY, JUNE 11 SCHEDULE

11-11:30am: Elementary Ballet Class (age 5-7) with Alicia Holloway
11:30am-12pm: Children’s Ballet Class (age 8-12) with Alicia Holloway
12-12:30pm: Adult Musical Theater Jazz (age 18+) with Leah Hofmann
12:30-1pm: Teen Musical Theater Jazz (age 13-17) with Leah Hofmann
1-1:30pm: Adult Ballet Class (age 18+) with Tristan Grannum
1:30-2pm: Teen Ballet Class (age 13-17) with Tristan Grannum

2:30-3pm: Pointe Shoe Lecture Demonstration
3-4pm: Brooklyn Ballet Student Performance

4-4:30pm: Children & Teen Modern Dance (age 8-17) with Sabrina Petrelli
4:30-5pm: Adult Modern Dance (age 18+) with Sabrina Petrelli
5-5:30pm: Voguing Class (age 8+) with Akiko Tokuoka 
5:30-6pm: Hip Hop Class (age 8+) with Ladell “Ocean” Thomas

7-8pm: Brooklyn Ballet Company Performance with special guests, Jasmine Mans, spoken word and live music with composer Malcolm Parson

1-1:30pm: Improvisation (age 8+) with Taylor Graham
1:30-2pm: Modern Dance Class (age 8+) with Janée Murray-Wegman 
2-2:30pm: Voguing Class (age 8+) with Akiko Tokuoka 
2:30-3pm: Hip Hop Class (age 8+) with Ladell “Ocean” Thomas

3-4pm: Brooklyn Ballet Company Performance with special guests, Jasmine Mans, spoken word and live music with composer Malcolm Parson
