Covid-19 Rental Guidelines

Brooklyn Ballet’s COVID-19 Guidelines & Procedures for Renters & Private Classes/Lessons:

Dear Renters, Brooklyn Ballet Faculty, and Private Students and their families,

Thank you for your interest and continued support of Brooklyn Ballet. We’re so grateful for your patronage! As a result of the pandemic, we’ve implemented the following guidelines and procedures to ensure the health and safety of the Brooklyn Ballet community. By renting Brooklyn Ballet’s studio for rehearsals, classes, and private lessons, you are agreeing to comply with the following guidelines and procedures.

  1. Only dancers, students, and teachers (from here on referred to as “participants”) who are physically participating in the rehearsal, class, or lesson (from here on referred to as “booking”) are permitted in the facility. Parents, guardians, siblings, and/or significant others are not permitted in the facility, at any time for any reason. No exceptions.
  2. All participants must enter from Brooklyn Ballet’s front entrance at 160 Schermerhorn Street. Before entering the facility, participants must complete the Coronavirus Liability Release Waiver, see attached, as well as the Coronavirus Questionnaire, which can be completed by visiting: www.brooklynballet.org/school/health-form. The Coronavirus Liability Release Waiver only needs to be completed once. The Coronavirus Questionnaire must be completed every time you enter the facility. It must be completed the day of your booking. Participants under the age of 18 years-old must have a parent or guardian complete these forms on their behalf.
  3. All participants must wear a mask inside of the facility.
  4. Upon entering the facility, all participants must have their temperature checked with our no-touch thermometer and have a temperature of less than 100.4 degrees. Anyone testing higher than 100.4 will not be permitted in the facility.
  5. Upon entering the facility, all participants must sanitize their hands with the hand sanitizer provided.
  6. Sitting, stretching, congregating, or eating in the lobby is not permitted.
  7. Changing in the changing rooms and/or bathroom is not permitted.
  8. Participants must bring their own water.
  9. In-studio props and items, such as: yoga mats and tumbling mats will not be used.
  10. Participants are welcome to use the sound system, but will not move or adjust the placement of the large-screen TV.
  11. Unless they reside in the same household or pod, participants will practice social distancing at all times. Physical touching, partnering, correcting, etc. is not permitted.
  12. At the end of your booking, participants will use the disinfectant spray and paper towels provided to wipe down all common touch areas and ballet barres.
  13. Participants must stack all ballet barres against the windows or in front of the shelves.
  14. Upon exiting the facility, all participants must sanitize their hands with the hand sanitizer provided.
