IDEA Statement
Brooklyn Ballet School values inclusion, diversity, equity, and accessibility (IDEA) for ALL. We believe that every student deserves the opportunity to receive the best dance education, regardless of their race, gender, ethnicity, religion, or socioeconomic background. As dance educators, we know that our students and their families look to us as role models in our studio and in our community. Therefore, our decisions, demeanor, and words matter. This scholastic year, we’re committed to educating our faculty and staff on best practices, as well as implementing changes to improve our awareness and sensitivity to I. D. E. A. We look forward to partnering with our students and their families to create a community of openness, acceptance, togetherness, and love. Brooklyn Ballet School has always been where Brooklyn comes to dance. We’re proud to continue that legacy and are dedicated to becoming a true representation of the uniquely diverse population of Brooklyn.
Anti-Bully Statement
Brooklyn Ballet is committed to providing and promoting an inclusive and supportive environment where all community members; faculty, students, families, dancers, and staff, feel safe and accepted. Community members are expected to maintain a positive, respectful, and professional demeanor at all times. Degrading and demeaning behaviors, such as: bullying, gossiping, or teasing of any kind, will not be tolerated. Any community member who engages, condones, or ignores such behaviors won’t be permitted at Brooklyn Ballet. We encourage all community members to be proactive and vigilant in this matter and invite anyone who witnesses such behavior to report it immediately to Brooklyn Ballet’s Administrative Staff. As always, thank you for your continued commitment to making Brooklyn Ballet a community of openness, acceptance, togetherness, and love.
Non-Discrimination Policy
At Brooklyn Ballet, we value diversity and inclusivity at every level of our organization. Brooklyn Ballet does not discriminate against individuals on the basis of race, color, national origin, religion, disability, gender, gender identity, familial status, age, or sexual orientation. These activities include, but are not limited to, staffing decisions, volunteer and vendor selection, and provision of services. We are committed to providing an inclusive and welcoming environment for all members of our staff, clients, volunteers, subcontractors, and vendors. Providing services to a diverse audience is at the core of our mission.
