ELEVATE EDUCATIONAL OUTREACH ASSISTANT (PART-TIME)
Position Overview:
Brooklyn Ballet is seeking a dedicated and organized Elevate Educational Outreach Assistant to join our team, part-time, working 20-25 hours per week. The Outreach Assistant will provide critical administrative and technical support to our community engagement initiatives, professional company performances, and outreach programs. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about dance education and arts administration.

About the Elevate Program:
Brooklyn Ballet’s Elevate program is committed to providing NYC public school students with equitable access to high-quality dance education. Elevate bridges the gap between arts education and underserved communities, inspiring young dancers and fostering creativity, discipline, and self-expression through the art of ballet
Compensation: Salary range: $30,000 - $35,000*
*This position has been made possible through grant funding, currently extended through December 2025.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree and/or professional dance experience or arts administrative experience.
- Proficiency with Google Docs, Google Sheets, and email communication.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and multitasking skills.
- Ability to work onsite, transport costumes/dancers to off-site locations, and provide technical support for performances.
Responsibilities:
Administrative Support:
- Assist the Director of Community Engagement with organizing documents, spreadsheets, and program information.
- Maintain records such as rosters, school information, demographic data, and performance details.
- Conduct research and maintain updated communication with partner schools, senior centers, and teaching artists.
- Send mass emails and make phone calls to arts liaisons, school administrators, and other partners to promote upcoming events.
Technical & Program Support:
- Provide technical support for outreach and professional company performances, including operating sound and ensuring costumes/dancers are ready.
- Attend onsite visits to document observations and assist with program logistics.
- Act as a liaison during school visits, performances, and outreach events.
Leadership Development:
- Develop relationships with school leaders, politicians, and community members through in-person and virtual communication.
- Represent the organization’s outreach programs and act as a liaison during performances and community events when Director of Community Engagement is unavailable
- Learn effective theater and front-of-house support skills.
Event Management:
- Assist with the planning and execution of Brooklyn Ballet’s The Brooklyn Nutcracker Community Matinee Performances and Take Ballet to the Streets Initiative.
- Organize scholarship documentation for outreach students and facilitate communication with families.
- Provide administrative and logistical support for Brooklyn Ballet performances.

COMPANY BALLET CLASS
Professional ballet dancers ages 18+ are welcome to join Brooklyn Ballet for company class 11am-12:15pm on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays, January 28-March 18, 2025. Click HERE to register for company class. While company class isn't a formal audition, it's a great way for dancers to be considered for future opportunities.
